The Event: Maryland 5 Star

Worldwide, there are only seven 5 star events that exist. These distinguished events are the highest degree of difficulty in equestrian eventing and are governed by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) domestically, and the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) globally. In its inaugural year, the Maryland 5 Star, in Fair Hill, is one of the only two 5 star events that take place in North America. Eventing features three major disciplines in the Equestrian world: Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping.

The Competition: Top Two Worldwide

Were you amazed at the skill of Equestrians displayed in the Olympics? To date, there are 13 Olympic veterans that have already registered to compete at the Maryland 5 Star – including four of the top eight competitors in the world! This event provides an exciting opportunity to see Oliver Townend, ranked #1 in the world, and Tim Price, ranked #2, in a star studded field of competitors!

The Competition: Royal Relations

Among the competitors is Olympian, Zara Tindall. Be on the lookout for the talented equestrian who also happens to be the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Incredible Venue: Fair Hill

Famed Eventer, currently ranked 8th worldwide and USEF 5 Star National Champion, Boyd Martin states: “I was absolutely blown away by the facility. It is an incredible venue. The cross country and the dressage and jumping rings are some of the best I’ve ever seen anywhere in the world. It’s very exciting to think what this place is going to contribute to horse sports in America for years to come.”
